Two persons were killed and 15 others injured as a passengers bus collided head-on with a pickup at Chowmashia area on the Rajshahi-Naogaon Highway under Mohadevpur Upazila in Naogaon district this afternoon.
Police sources said, the deceased were identified as Harun Mondal, 26 and Mojibur Rahman, 60. The injured people were taken to Naogaon General Hospital for treatment.
Mozaffar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Mohadevpur Police Station, said the accident occurred around 3pm and both the vehicles were badly damaged. Driver of the pickup Harun Mondal died on the spot while Mojibur succumbed to his injuries on the way to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
The police officer also said they rescued 15 injured persons from the spot and rushed them to the hospital immediately. Two of them were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital later as their conditions were stated to be critical.
