BTEB ex-chairman’s wife gets bail in certificate forgery case

DHAKA, A court here today allowed bail to Sehela

Parveen, 54, wife of Ali Akbar Khan, former chairman of Bangladesh Technical

Education Board (BTEB), in a case lodged over forging and selling

certificates.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohagh Uddin passed the

order this afternoon.

Sehela was arrested by Detective Branch (DB) of police on April 21 and was

placed on two-day remand on that day as law enforcing agency found her

involvement with a forge certificate making gang. Her involvement with the

gang was found after the arrest and grilling of BTEB system analyst ATM

Shamsuzzaman.

According to the DB sources, Sehela was involved in the gang that made fake

certificates, marksheets, registration and admission cards of the BTEB. The

gang is believed to be behind forging couple of thousand certificates.

Ali Akbar Khan was made OSD (officer on special duty) after the incident and

was quizzed by the DB officials as well.
