Gaibandha: A 7-day BSCIC (Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation) Trade Fair-2025 has begun at the park of Gaibandha Municipality this noon. BSCIC has arranged the fair in cooperation with the district administration on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair will feature a freelancer summit where 1,800 youth freelancers from the district will gather to present their successful freelancing stories. This initiative aims to inspire other youths to pursue freelancing as a route to economic self-dependence.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmed formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, while ADC-General AKM Hedayetul Islam presided over the inaugural ceremony. General Manager (Marketing) of BSCIC, Dhaka, Zahangir Alam, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, district unit, Masud Rana, president of Bangladesh Chhatra Dal Gaibandha Govt. College unit, Arshad Aiyub Jahid, and successful freelancer Sahadat Hossain Shahid also addressed the function.
The speakers at the event encouraged freelancers to increase their efforts in freelancing activities to earn foreign remittance. This, they emphasized, would contribute to changing the socio-economic conditions of the district and propel its development.
Later, the guests toured the stalls inside the park, taking the opportunity to engage with the visitors.
