Dhaka: The government has initiated a plan to introduce the ‘Women Bus Service’ to provide safe and comfortable transportation for women across the country. This move aims to address the transportation needs of women and enhance their safety while commuting.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) is acting on directives from the Prime Minister to implement this specialized bus service. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting released a notification today announcing the initiative.
BRTC has commenced the necessary preparations to bring the Prime Minister’s directives to fruition. The service will feature buses operated entirely by women, with female drivers, conductors, and helpers on board, the notification stated.
