Bhuanpur: A luxurious air-conditioned (AC) bus service of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has been launched on the Bhuanpur-Dhaka road in the district. BNP Vice-Chairman and MP for Tangail-2 constituency Advocate Abdus Salam Pintu officially inaugurated the AC bus service from Nalin Bazar in Bhuanpur upazila to Dhaka Medical this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BRTC AC bus will travel daily from Nalin Bazar in Bhuanpur to Dhaka Medical, and the fare has been fixed at Tk 350. The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of notable figures such as Upazila BNP General Secretary Selimuzzaman Talukder Selu, Poura BNP General Secretary Khondkar Lutfar Rahman Gias, and Hemnagar Union BNP General Secretary Jahangir Hossain, among others.
Local passengers have reported that the introduction of the BRTC AC bus service has addressed long-standing issues stemming from the syndicate and monopoly practices of private buses on this route. Previously, passengers faced challenges such as time-wasting, mid-route bus changes, overloading, and staff misbehavior. These issues particularly affected regular office-goers, students, and female passengers, many of whom resorted to traveling to Elenga at additional cost to avoid these hardships.
The launch of the BRTC AC bus service has been welcomed by ordinary passengers, who now experience a more comfortable and reliable travel option on the Bhuanpur-Dhaka road.
