Khulna: Four members of a family, including a bride, who were among 14 fatalities in a tragic road accident in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat, were buried on Friday in Khulna. The deceased included the bride, Marjia Mitu, her younger sister Lamia, aged 10, their grandmother Rashida Begum, 75, and maternal grandmother Anowara Begum.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Marjia Mitu was a first-year student at Naksha Alim Madrasa. The Namaz-e-Janaza for Mitu, Lamia, and Rashida Begum was held around 9:30 am on Friday at a field near their home in Naksha village, followed by their burial in the family graveyard. Anowara Begum’s funeral and burial took place separately in Dakop upazila.
Earlier, the tragic accident claimed the lives of 14 people, including the bride, in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus at Belai Bridge on the Khulna-Mongla highway on Thursday. This devastating incident has left Naksha village and the surrounding areas in mourning.
