Hanoi: Bangladesh U-23 football team assistant coach Hasan Al Mamun expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to make a positive start against host Vietnam in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The team has been preparing for the past month in Dhaka and Bahrain, followed by two days of preparation in Vietnam for the tournament. Mamun conveyed through a video message that the team is ready to perform well in the tournament.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the players are entering the tournament with high hopes and confidence, aiming to achieve good results for their country. Midfielder Sheikh Morsalin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing their month-long preparation and mental readiness for the first match. He stated that the team is determined to give their best performance.
A press release from the Bangladesh Football Federation mentioned that the U-23 national football team has completed their third training session in preparation for the match against Vietnam. The players have shown strong performances and remain focused. The team underwent an intensive tactical session, working on set pieces and finishing.
Fahamedul Islam joined the squad, although he did not participate in the training. All players are reported to be in good condition and fit to play. However, head coach AKM Saiful Bari Titu has been unwell with fever, leading assistant coach Hasan Al Mamun to conduct the training session.
The Bangladesh U-23 team is set to play their opening match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers against the Vietnam U-23 National Football Team at Vi?t Tr¬ Stadium tomorrow at 6 PM Bangladesh time.
