Bogra: Bogra district secured victories in both the men’s and women’s categories of the Padma Zone at the National Kabaddi Championship, which concluded at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the men’s division, eight districts participated. Bogra advanced to the final by defeating Joypurhat with a score of 34-18 in the semi-final. Rajshahi narrowly won against Pabna with a score of 29-22 to reach the final. In the decisive match, Bogra overcame Rajshahi with a score of 25-19 to claim the title.
In the women’s division, six teams competed. Bogra triumphed over Rajshahi in a tightly contested semi-final, winning 24-21, while Pabna bested Joypurhat with a score of 34-23. In the final showdown, Bogra dominated Pabna, securing a 40-18 victory to become champions.
The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation has segmented the national championship into eight zones. The upcoming phase will take place in Rangpur under the Teesta Zone. Zonal champions will proceed to the inter-district stage, where the top teams, alongside services teams, will compete in the national finals in Dhaka.
Organizers anticipate that this zonal approach will contribute to the promotion of kabaddi throughout the country.
