Rajbari:The body of a college student, Chowdhury Fuad Hasan, also known as Rohan, was found stuffed in a sack floating in a water body in Rajbari Sadar upazila on Thursday evening, three days after he was reported missing.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Rohan, 19, was a third-year student at a private technical institute in Rajbari and resided in Raghunathpur village under Dadshee union. His family reported that on October 5, Rohan received a phone call during lunch and left home in a hurry. When he did not return by 400 pm and his mobile phones were switched off, the family searched for him without success and filed a general diary with the Rajbari Sadar Police Station on October 6.
Locals discovered the sack containing Rohan's body in a pond approximately 500 yards from his home around 530 pm on Thursday. After noticing a foul smell and seeing a human leg protruding from the sack, they informed the police.
Police arrived at the scene and recovered the body around 600 pm, with family members later confirming it was Rohan. Rajbari Superintendent of Police Mir Monir Hossain stated that the body was placed inside one sack, while another sack filled with soil was tied to it before being dumped into the pond. The body swelling caused the sack to float, drawing the attention of locals. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
