252 Detained in Cumilla Anti-Juvenile Gang Operation

Cumilla:Police detained 252 individuals during a coordinated operation targeting juvenile gangs across Cumilla district on Thursday night.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was carried out simultaneously in all 18 police stations in the district, commencing in the evening. The district police and the Detective Branch (DB) conducted the drive under the direction of Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman.

The police targeted areas known for juvenile gang activities during the operation, with senior police officials participating directly. Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Lutfar Rahman stated that police are currently verifying the detainees' potential involvement in criminal activities. Legal actions will be pursued following verification.

Lutfar Rahman also emphasized that regular operations are underway to deter youth from engaging in criminal activities. He assured that strict measures are in place to prevent innocent individuals from being harassed during these operations. The efforts to curb juvenile crime will persist, he added.
