BNP’s vision-2030 for joining next polls: Qamrul

DHAKA - Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam today said the "Vision 2030" declared by BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is a platform for taking part in the next parliamentary election.

"BNP is staging a platform for next polls . . . But country's people are not too fools to vote BNP," he said while speaking at a discussion at Segunbagicha here marking the 8th death anniversary of noted nuclear scientist Dr M A Wazed Miah, husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Russel Shishu Kishor Sangsad organized the discussion at Shishu Kallyan Parishad Auditorium here with its Advisor Professor Dr Hossain Mansur in the chair.

Dhaka City South unit Awami League (AL) General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana spoke at the discussion, among others.

The minister said "People now think about country's development and they know that country's uplift activities will not advance without Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina".

Terming Khaleda Zia's 'Vision 2030' is a bluff as well as farcical; the food minister said such activities would not help BNP to reach to the mass people.

Qamrul Islam said "Our target is to become a middle income country by 2021 and developed country by 2041. And now our prime aim is to ensure the rights of getting safe food for all."

There was a time; Bangladesh was regarded as the country of food deficiency, scarcity, Manga and famine. But now the country has witnessed tremendous development as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become successful to ensure food security for 16 crore people of the country, he added.
