Dhaka: Adviser to the BNP Chairman and spokesperson of the party’s election steering committee, Mahdi Amin, today declared that the BNP’s triumph in the 13th parliamentary election is not just a win for the party, but a victory for the entire nation. “After a long wait, people have exercised their franchise, delivering a historic message in favor of democracy,” Amin stated while addressing journalists outside the BNP Chairman’s office in Gulshan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahdi Amin emphasized that the BNP represents the common masses, making this long-anticipated victory a success not just for a single individual or party, but for the people and democracy of the country. He highlighted that the election results were the culmination of a prolonged movement, struggle, sacrifices, and aspirations of the people.
The BNP leader expressed confidence that Tarique Rahman would meet the expectations of the people who have placed their hopes in the BNP. “Under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, a transparent and accountable state will be established,” he asserted.
Amin also acknowledged the sacrifices and struggles of many martyrs that have fortified the BNP’s democratic journey. He assured that under Rahman’s leadership, the aspirations of the mothers of the martyrs would be fulfilled, and the fate of every person would be transformed. “We believe he will uphold the independence, sovereignty, and democracy of this country,” he concluded.
