Dhaka: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a three-day programme to observe Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14 and celebrate Victory Day on December 16. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi revealed the plans during a programme at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Auditorium in Farmgate.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP's schedule includes tributes to the martyred intellectuals at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard at 9:00 am on December 14. The party will also host a discussion meeting later that day. On December 15, another discussion will take place, featuring distinguished intellectuals and BNP leaders.
For Victory Day on December 16, Rizvi stated that the BNP will raise national and party flags at their offices. Senior leaders will lead party members in laying wreaths at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar. Additionally, the BNP will honor the day by placing wreaths at the mausoleum of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
