Bashundhara Kings Secure Victory to Extend Lead in Bangladesh Football League

Dhaka: Bashundhara Kings extended their lead in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) by defeating ten men Mohammedan Sporting Club with a 2-0 victory at the Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Kings secured an early breakthrough when forward Rakib Hossain found the net in the 15th minute. The victory was sealed in the 90+1st minute when Brazilian forward Dorielton scored the second goal for the Kings.

The match saw a dramatic moment when Mohammedan's Uzbek midfielder, Muzaffar Muzaffarov, received a direct red card for unsporting behavior in the 90+4th minute. This win allowed Bashundhara Kings to maintain their top position in the league table with 16 points from six matches. Meanwhile, the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit, Mohammedan Sporting Club, remains in fourth position with seven points from the same number of outings.

In other league developments, Fakirerpool Young Men's Club is set to play against Abahani Limited Dhaka at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj, while PWD Sports Club will face Bangladesh Police Football Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur in the remaining sixth-round matches scheduled for tomorrow.
