Gulshan:BNP leaders and activists will serve as volunteers and protectors at Durga Puja mandaps nationwide to ensure the Hindu community can celebrate the festival safely, stated BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Rizvi made these comments after a meeting of the BNP's National Standing Committee, chaired by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting focused on coordinating with local Puja committees to safeguard the festival.

The discussions included strategies for BNP activists to work with local committees in securing mandaps and thwarting any threats against the country and government. A central Durga Puja monitoring committee was established under Joint Secretary Generals Khairul Kabir Khokon and Syed Emran Saleh Prince.

Rizvi noted that previous instructions had been given to ensure the peaceful celebration of the festival and highlighted the party's vigilance on related matters. The meeting also touched on organizational issues and did not address upcoming elections or the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal committee formation.
