Magura: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) observed its 47th founding anniversary in Magura by organizing a series of environmentally-focused activities, including a tree plantation, sapling distribution, and fish fry release program. The event took place at the Government Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy College campus.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chhatra Dal unit of the college played a pivotal role in organizing the anniversary event. The program was inaugurated by Alhaj Monowar Hossain Khan, member secretary of Magura District BNP, around 11:30 am. The ceremony was graced by the presence of College Principal Professor Rezvi Jaman as a special guest. Leaders and activists from Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Krishak Dal, and Chhatra Dal also participated in the day’s activities.
Monowar Hossain Khan addressed the attendees, emphasizing the legacy of the late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, who advocated for tree plantation. Khan stated that the day’s program was not merely symbolic but aimed at genuine environmental conservation and public welfare. The event included the planting of tree saplings on the college premises and the release of fish fry into the Nabaganga River, underscoring the party’s commitment to ecological sustainability.
