Gaibandha: Newly elected BNP lawmaker from Gaibandha-4 constituency, Shamim Kaisar Lincoln, today asserted that individuals who attempt to disrupt communal harmony will face consequences. “No one can belittle people of other religions. This country belongs to everyone. There is no room for discrimination on the basis of religion,” Lincoln stated during an exchange with members of the Hindu community.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the lawmaker addressed the community while visiting the under-construction Sree Sree Radha Gobinda Kali Mondir at Ramchandrapur village in Palashbari upazila. He emphasized that the temple, being constructed under the initiative of Horidas Babu, is intended for religious purposes, and stressed the importance of its safety and preservation as a collective duty.
During his visit, Lincoln toured the temple premises and assessed the progress of the construction work. Temple founder Horidas Babu provided insights into the design and overall plan of the structure, expressing gratitude for the lawmaker’s visit. Lincoln pledged necessary support for the temple’s development.
Accompanying the lawmaker were Upazila BNP Convener Faruk Kabir Ahmed and Debashish Kumar Kazol Chaki, Convener of the Upazila Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Kalyan Front, among others.
