Khulna: Leaders and activists of Khulna BNP today protested the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission (AHC) in Agartala, India. Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists brought out a procession from K D Ghosh Road around 12:30pm that ended in front of the party office after parading different city streets. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP's central Information Affairs Secretary Azizul Bari Helal addressed the rally, demanding an official apology from India over the incident. He stated, "A civilized country can never carry out such attack on a diplomatic mission. India must formally apologize to Bangladesh for this." Helal also emphasized unity among Bangladeshis in protecting the independence and sovereignty of their nation. He further expressed strong protest against remarks made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The rally was attended by BNP City Unit Convener advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, member secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, senior BNP leaders Fakrul Alam, Mahbub Hasan Pearu, and Abu Hossain Babu, among others. The attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission occurred yesterday afternoon amid a massive rally in the Tripura capital. The rally was organized to protest the arrest of ISCKON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.
