BNP Candidate Jalal Uddin Claims Victory in Kishoreganj-2

Dhaka: Advocate Md Jalal Uddin of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been unofficially elected from Kishoreganj-2 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election. He secured 1,43,669 votes with the party’s symbol, sheaf of paddy.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jalal Uddin’s nearest rival, Md Shafiqul Islam of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, contesting with the weighing scale symbol, garnered 1,20,975 votes. In the constituency, 1,73,377 votes were cast in favor of ‘Yes’ in the referendum, while 68,644 votes were cast against ‘No’.



The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon area today.
