BNP Candidate Biswas Jahangir Alam Clinches Victory in Narail-1

Dhaka: BNP-nominated candidate Biswas Jahangir Alam has been elected unofficially in the Narail-1 constituency during the 13th national parliamentary election, securing 99,975 votes. His closest competitor, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-nominated candidate Md Obaidullah, garnered 75,225 votes.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum held in the Narail-1 constituency, 100,554 votes were cast in favor of "Yes," while 70,959 votes were in favor of "No." The announcement of the results took place at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon area.
