Awami League presidium member Advocate Qamrul Islam, MP, said BNP's trusted persons are only foreigners as they do not have confidence in the country's people.

"BNP become isolated from people and thus, they cannot rely on people's vote. Therefore, foreigners are becoming trusted persons of the party," said Qamrul Islam.

He was addressing an Iftar distribution programme among the low income people on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at capital's Kamrangirchar area, organised by Kamrangichar Thana Awami League.

Qamrul said, "BNP is running digital propaganda against the government and spreading falsehood to tarnish government's image. They are holding Iftar parties at five star hotels. On the other hand, the government is trying to stand by the people".

Regarding caretaker government, he said, "No matter how much BNP dreams of a caretaker government, it is not possible as it is a dead issue which will never return to Bangladesh".

Urging the BNP to take preparation for the elections, he said, the next national elections will be held according to the constitution.

Qamrul urged BNP men not to conspire or threaten to wage movements saying, "AL leaders and activists are ready to face any movement and befitting replies will be given against all the conspiracies."

Awami League Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, AL Dhaka South City Vice-President Nurul Amin Ruhul, MP, and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, among others, also spoke.
