Dhaka: During the holy month of Ramadan, many affluent individuals increase their charitable activities to support underprivileged members of society through acts of charity, including sadaqah and Zakat.

According to United News of Bangladesh, digital financial services have played a crucial role in facilitating Zakat donations by bridging the gap between donors and recipients. BKash, a prominent digital financial service provider, now allows users to send Zakat and other donations to over 50 charitable and volunteer-based organisations across the country. This ensures financial assistance reaches thousands of vulnerable individuals in need.

Throughout the year, bKash users can directly donate to trusted institutions such as As-Sunnah Foundation, Mastul Foundation, Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, Anjuman Mufidul Islam, and many more. The platform also supports contributions through merchant accounts of various social and voluntary organisations.

To donate using the bKash app, customers simply need to click on the 'Donation' icon, select their preferred organisation from a list, and enter their name, email, and donation amount. Donors have the option to remain anonymous by selecting the 'I don't want to share my identity' option. Upon completion, donors receive an acknowledgment note, while details about the recipient organisations can be accessed via the 'Know More' section.
