Biology translational research conference held at RU

An international conference on “Advances and

Challenges through Translational Research in Biological Sciences” was held at

Rajshahi University (RU) today.

RU Institute of Biological Sciences (IBSc) and Microbiologists Society of

India (MSI) jointly organised the conference at the gallery of engineering

faculty.

Member of University Grants Commission Professor Hasina Khan inaugurated the

conference as the chief guest while RU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir

Sattar and Pro-VC Prof Humayun Kabir spoke as patrons with MSI President Prof

AM Deshmukh in the chair.

IBSc Director Prof Jahan Ara Khanom welcomed the participants from India,

Nepal, Australia and the United States of America and the host Bangladesh.

In the daylong conference, the participants from home and abroad presented

research papers and discussed progress and obstacles related to translational

research in biology.

During their paper presentations, the researchers talked about the importance

of translational research in the f
ield of public health, agriculture and

economic development.

In addition to the opening session, there were four lectures in a plenary

session, 44 paper presentations in two technical sessions and 174 posters

exhibition in the poster session of the conference.
