Cox's Bazar:State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque announced on Wednesday that the government is set to extend sustainable biogas technology to grassroots levels to tackle the nation's energy crisis effectively.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the government is in the process of preparing an action plan aimed at distributing biogas plants to remote areas throughout the country within the next two years. The state minister shared these insights while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a biogas plant, an event organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports near Link Road in Cox's Bazar.

The state minister mentioned that a booklet will be created to explain the benefits of biogas technology in simple terms to encourage farmers to adopt this energy solution. Further, he emphasized the role of youth as the nation's driving force, capable of leading overall change and development. Aminul expressed optimism that the biogas initiative, currently limited in scope, will expand nationwide in the future.

Additionally, the state minister highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize the training provided at youth development centers. This modernization is aligned with changing needs and includes training and soft-term loan assistance in emerging and market-oriented sectors such as artificial intelligence, freelancing, caregiving, and mobile servicing, all of which are creating new employment opportunities.

The government is also exploring methods to enhance commercial biogas production and supply, in addition to meeting household needs. Aminul stated that the government aims to make every youth development service accessible to people in remote areas. During the program, two farmers were each awarded a loan of Tk 1.5 lakh to support the installation of biogas plants.
