BIDA and UNDP Strengthen Partnership with Renewed MoU on Investment and Policy Innovation

Dhaka: Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) today jointly hosted a workshop at BIDA conference room in the city to finalize the renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting investment, youth employment, and policy innovation in Bangladesh. BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun attended the workshop as the chief guest.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ashik Chowdhury emphasized the ongoing collaboration between BIDA and UNDP, highlighting past successful joint efforts such as the investment summit and policy research initiatives. He noted the importance of advancing a more investor-centric approach by integrating data and technology, stating that continued collaboration with partners like UNDP will help align with global best practices.



The renewed MoU will guide collaboration over the next two years, focusing on entrepreneurship, digital transformation, responsible business, and disaster resilience. This partnership will be facilitated particularly through the future nation platform and BIDA’s Research and Analytics Unit (RAU).



The session commenced with welcome remarks by Md. Maruful Alam, Director (Deputy Secretary), and Tanvir Mahmud, Senior Governance Specialist. Owais Parray, Country Economic Advisor for UNDP Bangladesh, shared insights from international reform experiences, while Jyotish Talukdar, Private Sector Partnership Specialist at UNDP, presented the key achievements of the partnership.



Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Executive Member (Additional Secretary) of BIDA, emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration to meet national economic priorities. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Md. Muzib-Ul-Ferdous, Director General (Joint Secretary), Local Investment Promotion.
