Dhaka: Bangladesh is set to roll out the red carpet for Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay as he arrives on Saturday for a three-day state visit aimed at boosting bilateral ties through enhanced connectivity, trade, and investment. Officials have confirmed that the Bhutanese premier is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister Tobgay’s itinerary includes a series of engagements, notably talks with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus. This visit marks an important step in strengthening relations between the two nations, with both leaders expected to discuss a range of topics aimed at fostering closer cooperation.

The visit comes after Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus extended an invitation to Prime Minister Tobgay during the UN General Assembly in September, which was warmly accepted. As part of the visit’s schedule, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam is set to brief the media this afternoon to outline the Bhutanese leader’s programmes at the foreign ministry.

Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay is expected to conclude his visit and depart from Dhaka on Monday, following his series of engagements. This visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepen their partnership and explore new avenues of collaboration.
