Dhaka:The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is mourning the death of M Ghaziul Haque, a notable figure in Bangladesh's financial sector. Haque was a founding director and former chairman of Eastern Bank PLC and served as chairman of MGH Group.
According to United News of Bangladesh, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan highlighted Haque's significant contributions to Bangladesh's economic growth and the expansion of modern banking. He was instrumental in the establishment of Eastern Bank PLC and played a key role in fortifying the private-sector banking foundation in the country.
Haque's leadership at MGH Group, a company involved in international supply chains and logistics, greatly influenced the national economy and the apparel sector's development. His efforts in foreign exchange earnings and export diversification had a lasting impact on the country's economy.
The BGMEA has offered prayers for Haque's eternal peace and extended heartfelt condolences to his family. The association stated that the nation will remember Haque's remarkable contributions with deep respect.
