BGB Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth Taka 2.92 Crore in Sunamganj

Sunamganj: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered smuggled goods worth about Taka 2.92 crore from the Jangalbari border area under Tahirpur upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team of Sunamganj-28 BGB of Charagaon BoP conducted a raid in the area based on a tip-off and discovered the illegal goods in an abundant condition. Sunamganj-28 BGB Captain AKM Jakaria stated that the operation was successful in retrieving the contraband items.

The seized goods comprised 5,127 pieces of shirts, 156 meters of cloths for pants, 1,296 meters of cloth for blazers, 20,430 meters of cloths for panjabis, and 9,000 pieces of sunscreen. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by BGB to curb smuggling activities along the border areas.
