Sylhet: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has conducted a series of operations in the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts, resulting in the seizure of Indian smuggled goods valued at over Taka three crore. The BGB's operations targeted key smuggling routes and were executed by patrol teams from various Border Out Posts (BOPs).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BGB 48 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md Nazmul Haque reported that the BGB patrol teams carried out the seizures from last Friday night through this morning. The operations were part of a concerted effort to curb illegal smuggling activities in the region.
The BGB press release detailed that the confiscated items included Indian smartphones, chocolates, cows, and catfish. These goods were intercepted as they were being smuggled across the border. Furthermore, the BGB also seized boats that were engaged in illegally extracting stones from quarries in the border areas, as stated in the release.
