BGB Seizes Indian Goods Worth Tk 25 Lakh in Sunamganj

Sunamganj: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian bidi (mini-cigars) worth Tk 4.2 lakh and Indian sarees worth Tk 20.7 lakh during separate raids in Bishwambarpur and Sunamganj Sadar upazilas in the district early today. BGB Sunamganj-28 Battalion Captain AKM Zakaria Qadir confirmed the seizures, adding that the seized goods will be handed over at the customs office.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the personnel from Chinakandi Border Outpost (BOP) conducted a raid at Dhanpur in Bishwambarpur upazila around 1:00 am. They recovered 10,080 packets of Indian bidi from Shildowar, approximately 150 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 1209/5-S.



Besides, BGB personnel of Chinaura BOP conducted a raid at around 5:30 am in the Chinaura area of Rangarchar Union in Sunamganj Sadar upazila and seized 345 pieces of Indian sarees that were left unclaimed.
