BFUJ demands immediate formation of 10th wage board

The BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists has demanded immediate formation of 10th Wage Board and implementation of the Ninth Wage Board award, a BFUJ press release said here today.

“The ninth wage board was formed nearly five years ago but its recommendations have not been executed so far, so formation of a new wage board is the demand of time and also important to execute the ninth one“, BFUJ president Omar Faruque and its acting secretary general Amit Roy said in a statement.

The livelihood of the journalists have been fell into an unpleasant situation and that’s why the government should take into account the legitimate demand of the journalists for formation of 10th wage board, the release added.

Leaders of the BFUJ, the apex body of the journalist community, strongly demanded passing of Mass Media Employees Act (services and conditions) quickly with all possible amendments.
