BCB Announces Squad for Inaugural Women’s U19 Asia Cup

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled its squad for the first-ever ACC Women's U19 Asia Cup, set to take place in Klang, Malaysia from December 15 to 22. The tournament, hosted at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, will see participation from six teams, including Bangladesh, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to depart for Malaysia on Friday. The tournament is divided into two groups, with Bangladesh placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Bangladesh will commence their campaign against Sri Lanka on December 16, followed by a match against Malaysia on December 17. The squad includes Sumaiya Akter as Captain and Afia Ashima Era as Vice-Captain, along with players Mst Eva, Fahomida Choya, Habiba Islam Pinky, Juairiya Ferdous, Fariya Akter, Farjana Easmin, Anisa Akter Soba, Sumaiya Akther Suborna, Nishita Akter Nishi, Arvin Tani, Jannatul Maoua, Sadia A kter, and Maharun Nesa. The BCB's announcement marks a significant step in promoting and developing women's cricket in Bangladesh as they prepare to compete at the international level.
