BCB and BTB Sign MoU to Boost Cricket Tourism in Bangladesh

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in promoting Bangladesh as a cricket tourism destination. The agreement aims to leverage the country’s cricketing prowess and cultural heritage to attract both national and international tourists.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU outlines a cooperative framework between the two organizations to highlight Bangladesh’s tourism potential through cricket. The partnership will see the BCB and BTB working on joint campaigns, promotional activities, and initiatives such as trophy tours, cultural events, and curated travel packages. Additionally, they will collaborate with tour operators, hotels, and travel agencies to develop cricket tourism packages for domestic and overseas visitors.



BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that the partnership reflects a shared vision of promoting Bangladesh not only as a cricketing nation but also as a unique tourism destination. He emphasized cricket’s role as a unifying force in the country that can aid in showcasing Bangladesh on a global stage.



BTB Chief Executive Officer Nuzhat Yasmin welcomed the initiative, highlighting the potential for tourism and cricket to create a powerful platform for presenting Bangladesh’s rich heritage, culture, and natural beauty. Yasmin expressed confidence that the collaboration would enhance international awareness and attract more visitors to experience Bangladesh.



The MoU signing event held at the BTB office in Dhaka was attended by several key figures, including Cricket Tourism Advisor of the BCB President’s Advisory Committee Md Shakawath Hossain, BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, Director Admin and Finance of BTB Abu Salim Mahmud-Ul Hasan, and BTB’s Director Marketing Planning and Public Relation Saleha Binte Siraj, alongside officials from both organizations.
