Sundarganj: Bazar monitoring activities by the Sundarganj upazila administration have been ongoing since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative aims to prevent a surge in the prices of essential commodities during this period.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the monitoring was carried out in various kitchen markets, including Mirbag, Belka, and Poura markets of the upazila on Monday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and first-class executive magistrate Iffat Jahan Tuli led the efforts to ensure that customers could purchase essentials at fair prices.

During the monitoring, five shopkeepers were fined Taka 200 each for selling essentials at inflated prices. The UNO mentioned that these monitoring activities would continue throughout Ramadan to achieve the desired objectives of the initiative.
