Barcelona:Barcelona defender Xavi Espart is set to miss approximately seven weeks due to an ankle injury, as announced by the La Liga leaders on Monday. The 19-year-old full-back sustained the injury during the 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the Clasico at Camp Nou on Sunday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Espart had emerged as a regular starter for coach Hansi Flick this season. His absence adds to Barcelona's injury woes, with several other players, including Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, and Dani Olmo, also currently sidelined.
Espart's injury will see him miss important fixtures, including the La Liga match against Atletico Madrid on November 8, as well as Champions League clashes with Aston Villa, Sabah, and Manchester City. Despite their first domestic defeat of the season, Barcelona maintains a two-point lead over Atletico Madrid in the league and are three points ahead of Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.
