Bangladesh’s Representation in France’s Global Student Network Needs Strengthening: French Envoy

Dhaka: French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc S©r©-Charlet has expressed the need for a stronger representation of Bangladeshi students in France’s global student community. He made this statement during a meeting with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, Prof Dr Abdus Salam, where he also engaged with students.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the Ambassador encouraged students to consider France for their higher education, noting the availability of English-taught programs and a growing international student community. He emphasized France’s commitment to supporting women’s education and scholarships, which align with its feminist foreign policy.



Discussions with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor revolved around promoting educational opportunities in France, with a focus on Campus France’s role and services for international students. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the importance of student mobility and appreciated the French Embassy’s support through Campus France initiatives.



He also commended the French expert in the University of Dhaka’s Department of Oceanography, whose contributions have enhanced academic and research activities. The Ambassador recommended students use Campus France Bangladesh for reliable information on higher education in France, ensuring applications are properly reviewed and validated.



The Ambassador was joined by the Cultural Attach© of the French Embassy, Baptiste Lebret; the Country Head of Campus France Bangladesh, Syeda Naasiba Hossain; and Dr. Tonia Astrid Capuano, an oceanographer appointed by the French government at the University of Dhaka.
