Bangladesh Women’s Football Team Prepares for Myanmar Challenge in AFC Qualifiers

Yangon: Bangladesh women’s national football team is set to face host Myanmar in their second critical Group C match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, tomorrow (Wednesday). The match is scheduled to start at 3.30pm Bangladesh time.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team is riding high on confidence following their commanding 7-0 victory over higher-ranked Bahrain in their opening group match on Sunday. The players are determined to maintain their winning momentum as they prepare for their encounter against Myanmar.



Myanmar also enters the match with confidence, having defeated Turkmenistan 8-0 in their own opening group match. Both teams are poised to deliver strong performances in what promises to be an intense match.



In preparation for the upcoming game, the Bangladesh team completed their official training session at training field 5 in Yangon. The players are focused and motivated, eager to continue their strong performance in the tournament.



Following the match against Myanmar, the Bangladesh women’s football team will play their last group match against Turkmenistan on July 5. The squad includes players such as Rupna Chakma, Sheuli Azim, Shamsunnahar (Sr.), Monika Chakma, Maria Manda, Ritu Porna Chakma, Tohura Khatun, Shamsunnahar (Jr.), and captain Afeida Khandakar, among others.
