Bangladesh Women’s Football Team Arrives in Japan for 20th Asian Games

Japan: The Bangladesh women's national football team reached Japan early today to participate in the women's football competition of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. The team touched down in Japan at around 3 am Bangladesh time, following a preparation camp in China. They departed from China on Friday, as stated in a message received. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrival marks the official beginning of Bangladesh's campaign in the Asian Games. The team is placed in Group B and is set to open their campaign against DPR Korea on September 14. Following this, they will face the Republic of Korea on September 17 and conclude the group stage with a match against Myanmar on September 21. Bangladesh's participation in the Asian Games women's football competition is only their second appearance. In their previous outing at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in China, the team was eliminated in the group stage, having secured one draw and suffered two defeats in their three matches.
