Chongqing: Bangladesh U-17 national football team is set to face Sri Lanka in their third Group A match of the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers at Tongliang Long Stadium in Chongqing, China, tomorrow. The match is scheduled to kick off at 12 pm Bangladesh time.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bayzit Bostami, a key player for Bangladesh, shared his thoughts through a video message today, highlighting the two significant challenges that lie ahead for the team. He expressed confidence in their preparation and sought blessings for the team's success in qualifying for the final round of the Asian Cup.
Bangladesh has shown impressive form in the tournament so far, beginning with a commanding 5-0 victory over Timor-Leste in their opening Group A match, followed by an 8-0 triumph over Brunei in their second match. These victories have set a strong foundation for the team as they approach the upcoming matches.
Following the match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will face Bahrain on November 28 and host China on November 30. The top team from each of the seven groups will secure a place in the 16-team finals, joining hosts Saudi Arabia and eight other nations that have already qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
