Bogra: Pacer Abu Jayed Rahi delivered an impressive performance, claiming a total of nine wickets as Sylhet secured a 147-run victory over Chattogram in their fifth match of the National Cricket League (NCL) at Shaheed Chandu Stadium.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sylhet, after being put to bat first, managed to score 255 runs before being bowled out in the first innings. This total set them up for a substantial 145-run lead, greatly influenced by Abu Jayed's exceptional bowling display.

Abu Jayed was instrumental in dismantling Chattogram's batting line-up, taking 5 wickets for just 37 runs, restricting them to a mere 110, which significantly influenced the match's outcome.

Sylhet's captain, Zakir Hasan, played a crucial role, adding 61 runs in the second innings to his earlier 78, as Sylhet accumulated 205 runs, leaving Chattogram with a daunting target of 353 for victory.

Despite the efforts of Chattogram's Irfan Hossain and Nayeem Hasan, who each took five wickets, their batting side faltered again. Captain Shahadat Hosain Dipu offered some resistance with an unbeaten 62, but Chattogram's innings concluded at 205 all out.

Abu Jayed continued his excellent form in the second innings with figures of 4-43, supported by Rejaur Rahman Raja, who claimed 3-61.
