Bangladesh Seeks Enhanced Educational Cooperation with Turkey: Bobby Hajjaj

Dhaka: State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj today expressed Bangladesh’s aspiration to emulate Turkey’s achievements in science, technology, and innovation. He underscored the importance of solidifying students’ foundations in science, mathematics, technology, and problem-solving skills starting from the primary education level.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation led by Dr. Ali Ercan, Vice President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), at his ministry office. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation between Bangladesh and Turkey in the primary education sector, covering areas such as teacher training, infrastructure development, curriculum modernization, and the enhancement of educational quality.



Highlighting various reform initiatives in Bangladesh’s primary education system, Hajjaj emphasized the government’s focus on teacher training, new curriculum formulation, infrastructure development, digital education, and the exchange of international experiences. He noted that Bangladesh has already initiated knowledge-sharing programs with several countries on education administration, curriculum development, infrastructure planning, and non-formal education, and he expressed a keen interest in developing similar collaborations with Turkey.



During the meeting, Dr. Ali Ercan lauded the leadership, enthusiasm, and vision of State Minister Bobby Hajjaj regarding primary education. He expressed hope that the minister’s initiatives and reform ideas would bring positive changes to Bangladesh’s primary education sector. Both parties emphasized the potential for financial and technical assistance in the primary education sector, the development of model schools, enhancement of teachers’ skills, construction of education-friendly infrastructure, and the exchange of experiences on national education philosophy and teaching methods.
