Gifu:Bangladesh concluded their Asian Games men's hockey journey in seventh place with a decisive 3-0 victory over Thailand in the place-deciding match at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match saw Bangladesh take an early lead in the third minute, courtesy of a goal by Roman Sarker. This initial success set the tone for Peter Gerhard's team, who maintained a 1-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The team's dominance continued into the second quarter when Amirul Islam doubled the lead in the 27th minute by converting a penalty corner. The win was sealed in the 53rd minute when Ashraful Islam scored from a penalty stroke, bringing the final score to 3-0.

Thailand struggled to mount a comeback, and Bangladesh's defense held strong, ensuring a comfortable win. This victory marked a successful conclusion to Bangladesh's campaign in the tournament.
