Bangladesh Reaffirms Commitment to UNDP Partnership for Development

New york: Bangladesh has reaffirmed its strong commitment to multilateralism, pledging close cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to advance development priorities aligned with national goals.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the annual meeting of the UNDP Executive Board at the United Nations Headquarters, Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, emphasized the crucial role of UNDP in strengthening democratic participation and supporting judicial reforms in the country. He highlighted the necessity for continued and predictable international support as Bangladesh prepares to graduate from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category.



The ambassador also underscored the significance of new, additional, and accessible climate finance to address the loss and damage faced by climate-vulnerable countries. Bangladesh expressed its support for ongoing UN reforms, emphasizing the importance of preserving UNDP’s delivery mandate and country programs.



Ambassador Chowdhury took the opportunity to congratulate the new UNDP Administrator, Alexander De Croo, on assuming office and reaffirmed Bangladesh’s full support for his leadership.
