Dhaka: A delegation of development and renewable energy experts, headed by former Norwegian minister for development and environment Erik Solheim, met with Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House today. The delegation expressed a strong interest in investing in small-scale solar plants, carbon markets, and agroforestry within Bangladesh, and also discussed the potential for collaborative ventures in hydroelectricity in Nepal. This comes as Bangladesh intensifies its efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels in the coming years.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Yunus welcomed the delegation's interest, stating that the interim government is prepared to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in these fast-growing sectors. The initiative aligns with Bangladesh's strategic focus on renewable energy and sustainable development, signaling a significant shift towards a greener economy.
