The agreement was formalized at a ceremony in Dhaka, attended by India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, as the chief guest.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the agreement was signed by Rhythm Group Managing Director Shohag Hossain and Manipal Health Enterprises Group Consultant Jithu Jose. Rhythm Group Deputy Managing Director Abhir Hossain was also present. High Commissioner Verma emphasized that the partnership reflects the deepening people-centric cooperation between Bangladesh and India, aimed at strengthening healthcare connectivity between the two nations.

Group COO of Manipal Health Enterprises, Karthik Rajagopal, stated that the collaboration is a step towards shared responsibility in delivering healthcare across borders. He expressed confidence that Bangladeshi patients will gain hassle-free access to Manipal’s world-class healthcare services through this partnership.

Abhir Hossain of Rhythm Group highlighted the relief this agreement will bring to Bangladeshi patients by providing reliable guidance and facilitating smoother travel and treatment arrangements in India. He noted that this collaboration would further organize Bangladesh’s emerging medical tourism sector, offering patients increased confidence and convenience.

The partnership promises comprehensive support for Bangladeshi patients seeking treatment in India. This includes medical consultations, hospital selection, and travel arrangements. Rhythm Group’s expertise in travel and logistics will complement Manipal Hospitals’ clinical network, which encompasses 49 hospitals and over 11,000 doctors.

The offered services will encompass second medical opinions, medical report reviews, and tailored treatment guidance. Additionally, patients will benefit from coordinated travel support, including accommodations and special airfare arrangements via airline partnerships.

Both organizations also plan to launch a digital video consultation platform, allowing Bangladeshi patients to consult with specialists remotely before traveling. In the long term, there are plans to establish a multidisciplinary hospital in Bangladesh through a joint venture to enhance local healthcare infrastructure.
