Bangladesh Celebrates World Egg Day 2026 with Nationwide Events

Rajshahi:Bangladesh World Egg Day 2026 is being celebrated across Bangladesh on Friday as part of a global effort to raise awareness about the nutritional benefits of eggs.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the theme for this year's celebration is 'Protein That Powers and Protects,' emphasizing the role of high-quality protein found in eggs, which supports muscle growth, brain development, immune function, and healthy aging.

The Department of Livestock Services and the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council have launched initiatives to promote the nutritional value of eggs. These include awareness rallies, seminars, and discussions held at agricultural universities throughout the country under the theme 'Nutrition in eggs, energy in eggs, and immunity from disease through eggs.'

In Panchagarh, a discussion event was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room, organized by the district administration and the District Livestock Department. State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad participated as the chief guest, with Deputy Commissioner Shukria Parvin presiding over the event. The speakers underscored the importance of eggs in fulfilling the nutritional requirements of all age groups, especially children, and urged for increased awareness of the benefits of regular egg consumption.

In Rajshahi, a rally took place, and eggs were distributed free of charge to commemorate the day. Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton inaugurated the program as the chief guest. The rally commenced from Saheb Bazar Zero Point, moving through Moni Chattar and Malopara, before concluding at Alkar Mor.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of World Egg Day, celebrating three decades of acknowledging the egg's exceptional nutritional value and versatility. Since its inception in Vienna in 1996, egg enthusiasts worldwide have innovatively celebrated this nutrient-rich food, with the global recognition continuing to expand each year.
