Dhaka: Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today congratulated the Bangladesh cricket team for clinching the first ever T20 series victory against Pakistan. He also congratulated the cricketers, support staffs and all stakeholders of the board for the memorable victory.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Sports Adviser expressed hope that the Bangladesh cricket team will maintain its winning streak and bring more laurels for the country. Bangladesh, which won the first match by seven wickets, confirmed the series with a thrilling 8-run victory in the second game by defending a target of 133.
With the victory, Bangladesh took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The third and final match is scheduled for Thursday, as Bangladesh aims to sweep the series. Jaker Ali Anik played a key role with his 48-ball 55, guiding the team to 133 before being all out in 20 overs on a challenging wicket.
The bowlers, led by Shoriful Islam (3-17), Mahedi Hasan (2-25), and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (2-23), kept Pakistan at bay and eventually wrapped them up for 125 in 19.2 overs. Faheem Ashraf put up a fight with a 32-ball 51, but it was not enough to secure a win for Pakistan.
