Dhaka:Bangladesh and Pakistan have agreed to boost business-to-business engagement, focusing on greater cooperation within the textile and apparel supply chain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the understanding was reached during a meeting between Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) President Mohammad Hatem and Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider at the BKMEA office. Several BKMEA directors were also in attendance.
The discussions centered on implementing activities under the existing memorandum of understanding between BKMEA and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association. Plans were also made to organize joint B2B meetings to establish direct business connections between companies from both nations.
Mohammad Hatem extended an invitation to Pakistani companies to join the Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting and Garment Industry Exhibition in Dhaka, set for January 2027. He emphasized that participation in the exhibition would create opportunities to enhance supply-chain collaborations and broaden commercial ties between businesses in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
High Commissioner Imran Haider expressed his commitment to providing full support to strengthen bilateral trade and commercial cooperation.
