Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary observed in Netrakona

Netrakona March 17, 2023 (BSS) - The 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day-2023 was observed here today with paying rich tributes to Bangabandhu.

Netrakona district administration and different socio-cultural and political organizations, including Awami League, and itโ€™s associate organizations, professional groups, and educational institutions, chalked out various programs marking the day.

As part of the programs, the national flag was hoisted atop all public and private buildings in the district.

The celebration began in the morning with the placing of floral wreaths by deputy commissioner (DC) Netrakona Anjana Khan Mojlish at the portrait of Bangabandhu at โ€œChetonar Batighorโ€ on the Netrakona DC office premises.

Then, district-level officers, public representatives, heroic freedom fighters, political leaders, civil society members, and people from all walks of life placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu there.

A jubilant rally of children was brought out in the district town from the local Muktarpara ground and the rally ended on the Public hall premises after parading different main roads of the town.

A cake-cutting function was held at the local public hall and the function was followed by a discussion meeting on the โ€œLife and Ideology of Bangabandhuโ€ and a musical soiree based on patriotic songs.

Netrakona district information office arranged a short documentary film show on โ€œThe Life of Bangabandhuโ€ for the school students at Netrakona central Shaheed Minar premises.

Special prayers were offered at Netrakona central Jam -e-mosque and other mosques, temples, churches, and others places of worship seeking divine blessings for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and progress as well as the prosperity of the nation.

Improved diets were served to the inmates of jails, hospitals, and orphanages across the district.
