Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Bagmati Province Ganganarayan Shrestha has expressed the commitment to support the advancement of the only news agency of the country, Rastriya Samachar Samiti or RSS.
In a visit to the RSS central office in Bhadrakali today, Shrestha, who also holds the communications ministry portfolio, also pledged to provide office rooms for the RSS provincial office in Hetauda along with training for RSS journalists. The RSS will get a province-level building after the establishment of the media village in the provincial capital.
On the occasion, RSS Executive Chairperson Dharmendra Jha requested Minister Shrestha to help RSS with physical infrastructure and training for its journalists. In light of Bagmati Province Government allocating a considerable amount of budget under the title of mass communications, it should support RSS, which is an important agency under the state mechanism with footprint in every district of the country, as well as in some countries abroad, he added
